Description

Cetrimide Agar is a selective and differential medium used for theand identification ofPseudomonas aeruginosafrom clinical and non-clinical specimens. Cetrimide agar is widely used in the examination of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and clinical specimens to test for the presence ofPseudomonas aeruginosa.

Cetrimide is the selective agent and inhibits most bacteria by acting as a detergent. Cetrimide also enhances the production ofPseudomonaspigments such as, which show a characteristic blue-green and yellow-green color, respectively.
